About
DDSS/David Salas, a photographer, environmental scientist and multidisciplinary artist, blends fine art, street photography, and visual anthropology in his work. With an instinct for capturing fleeting moments, he transforms ordinary urban encounters into striking compositions that challenge modern life perceptions.
Salas’s work deconstructs consumer culture and the aesthetics of contemporary existence, offering a fresh dialogue on materiality and meaning. His approach is both analytical and poetic, revealing the contradictions and unexpected beauty found in ephemeral landscapes. Beyond photography, he experiments with film, installations, and wearable art, always exploring new ways to engage with the world visually.
Currently, Salas is preparing for his second solo exhibition in London, following his first in April 2025 in Mexico City. On his first exhibition, he showcased a carefully curated collection of photographs about the presence of plastics in our daily lives. Salas’s work aims to challenge conventional perspectives on street photography and encourage viewers to reflect on their own experiences.
